It's Wednesday!

+ I have been a beast in the workout department this week. I'm easing back into running after the marathon but I'm pushing full steam ahead with the biking and swimming. Tri season is upon us and that means two-a-days! Monday I did tough workout on the bike trainer then a back/biceps workout. Tuesday I swam and then ran (2 piddly miles but still). And today is my first brick workout in ages: an hour on the trainer then straight into a 3 mile run. Now I remember I was in such great shape last summer...

+ More workouts means less frequent washing of my hair (because what is the point if it's just going to get dirty again later?). It currently smells like chlorine. I don't even care.

+ I'm going to the mall with my mom tonight and hope to convince her to buy me dinner. If scamming parents out of meals is wrong, I don't want to be right.

+ It makes me really sad that Michael Kors has become a "thing." Like when high schoolers took over Coach a few years ago. I didn't realize it until my friend told me her theory about it and now I see them everyone on everybody and their mama.

+ I'm kind of a handbag snob.

+ I'm totally embarrassed to revisit my March goals in a few days. Some serious fails going on over here...

+ I am refusing to go to a concert with Ben next month. I don't think this has happened in the history of ever (concerts are our jam) but the next one I go to will be my 100th and I don't want to waste it on a band I just sort of like.

+ I'm obsessed with this song. Actually I'm really just obsessed with Nate Ruess's voice. Ben got me into The Format in college and I have loved everything Nate has done ever since (sadly, B and I totally disagree on Fun.)

  2. I'm a total bag snob too- and now that Coach is so "common" thanks to the highschoolers it sucks. I couldn't afford Coach in high school- so maybe I'm just resenting them.

  3. Haha! Yes to the hair washing. Who has time to wash their hair that often anyway?

  5. Ahh your workout routine puts me to shame! I can't believe March is already almost over-- I keep thinking it's only the end of February, must be the weather!

  6. I hope whoever you end up seeing for your 100th concert is epic. I wish I had kept a count of how many people I've seen in concert.. now I wanna know but there's no way I'll be able to recall them all.

  7. Stopping by from Kathy's link up! "It makes me really sad that Michael Kors has become a "thing."" YES!!!! I swear I thought I was the only one who felt this way. It makes me crazy. I think the concert is legit reasoning. #100 should be something special! I pretty much failed at my March goals too. Good luck with dinner tonight :)

  8. I agree...don't waste your 100th concert on a "like" I feel it needs to be an epic one! Also 100 concerts is crazy! I've probably only been to a dozen where I had to buy a ticket.

  9. Congrats on your marathon! That's great you're getting back into working out so quickly. I'm shooting for a marathon next year and probably just going to be a waste of space for a loooong time after ha.

I want to do a tri too! Excited to read about your journey. And I read your bio and I also am an engineer (chemical)! And I also (strangely enough) am all about the "Oxford Comma" (it bugs me when people don't use it), although I call it the "Harvard comma." So glad you found my blog so I could check yours out. I love meeting people with similar fitness goals and lifestyles :)

  11. I mean you now know how I feel about NOT washing my hair ;-) Dry shampoo is my little magician. I hated when I reached that age or transition when my parents didn't always pick up the tab booooo being an adult but I still take their paper products when I go home so that makes me feel a little better! xoxo

  12. I feel you on not washing your hair after working out! I also feel you on scamming parents out of meals, haha. It's only fair for them to feed us!

  13. I would NEVER turn down a free meal from my mom!!!! Of course, I buy stuff for her too, so she doesn't feel taken advantage of :). I think as young people have more disposable income (from their parents, of course, because we all know that a lot of kids feel entitled these days), a lot of brands are going to become more attainable and mainstream. Which sucks because I want to be special when I own something nice but if everyone else owns it, I feel like such a groupie. But then I also don't have the money to own something REALLY nice, ya know what I mean?

  14. I wanted to add that I'm a handbag snob too. I don't buy knock-offs (not even Target collabs), but I don't mind a cheap bag if it looks quality. I'd rather buy real leather though. I wish I could afford high-end bags but in reality, I'd prolly never use it. The LV Speedy that my hubs bought for my 30th birthday wasn't used once last year. I just don't want to ruin it or seem like I'm above everybody else. Sorry for the 2 long comments!
